I had a fantastic visit to the STEM centre at Callywith College which is currently under construction. Once completed, the building will include two full-size training wards for students who are taking healthcare and midwifery courses.
Many people in North Cornwall are concerned about the cost of energy, so I was very pleased to see the government extend our support with the Energy Bills Discount Scheme, providing up to £5.5 billion of support to businesses facing high energy costs until March 2024.

As part of my role as Government Whip, I have been working hard to ensure that the new National Security Bill makes it through the House. I’m therefore very pleased that it has now passed through the Commons and moved onto the Lords.
In the Autumn Statement, we have made tough but fair decisions to restore economic stability and tackle inflation. Inflation makes everyone poorer, that is why our number one priority is to grip inflation. There are no headline tax increases.
