We're delighted to introduce our very first online Book Club series, hosted in partnership with the Conservative Women's Organisation. Join us on Thursday, 20 August 2026 at 7.00pm for an engaging evening with our inaugural guest, Edwina Currie.
A longstanding figure within the Conservative Party, Edwina served as the Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire from 1983 to 1997 under both Margaret Thatcher and John Major. During her parliamentary career, she held a number of ministerial roles and became one of the Party's most recognisable voices.
Alongside her political career, Edwina is an accomplished author. She has written six novels, including A Parliamentary Affair (1994) and This Honourable House (2001), as well as her acclaimed political diaries, offering a fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into the realities of public life and politics.
During the event, Edwina will share some of her favourite books, reflect on her experiences as both an author and politician, and answer your questions in a live Q&A session.
As an added bonus, Edwina will choose her favourite audience question of the evening, with the winner receiving a personally signed copy of her diaries, posted directly by Edwina herself.
There's no need to have read any of Edwina's books before attending - everyone is welcome to join the conversation.
